Prof. Jin Woo Chang
President of the AASSFN |
Dear colleagues,
It is my distinct honor to welcome you to the society of the Asian Austrailasian Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery (AASSFN). AASSFN has a long history of support for the advancement of functional neurosurgery. Seventeen years ago AASSFN started the first biennial meeting in Singapore. 2011 marks the beginning of the decade that has hoped an developing activities in functional neurosurgical procedures and technologies. Achievement for this year's meeting in Jeju island bring a quality and breadth of research that will provide an impressive range of topics. A tremendous array of neuroscience, engineering technology, and clinical practices have been assembled for international collaboration. Our efforts are, we know, are but a drop in the ocean. Yet, I also believe that every drop in the ocean counts and these efforts can come to a wonderful fruition.
I want to express appreciation for the efforts of the former President, professor Poon, dedicating himself to unprecedented growth in our society. I am also sure the Secretary General of our association, professor Yamamoto, will try his best to promote our close interaction in the coming years.
I wish to strengthen the brotherhood within our scientific society and share our experiences to fulfill our vision of a 'Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery'.
Regards,
Prof. Jin Woo Chang
